| Satzteil | Form | Beispiel |
|---|---|---|
| if-Teil | if + Subjekt + had + past participle | If Tariq had checked the label, |
| Hauptsatz | Subjekt + would have + past participle | … he would have avoided the mix-up. |
| Englisch | Deutsch |
|---|---|
| If Wexford Farm Supplies had followed up on the order, they would have discovered the delay sooner. |
| If the client had read the delivery note carefully, she would have noticed the wrong quantity. |
Merke: Der Hauptsatz mit would have + past participle trägt einen eigenen Fachbegriff: das conditional perfect. Du erkennst es an would/could/might + have + past participle – nach if steht dagegen nie would have, sondern immer had.
| Reihenfolge | Beispiel | Komma? |
|---|---|---|
| if-Teil zuerst | If Naomi had called the supplier earlier, she could have solved the problem before the deadline. | ja |
| Hauptsatz zuerst | Naomi could have solved the problem before the deadline if she had called the supplier earlier. | nein |
Statt would have darf im Hauptsatz auch could have oder might have stehen – das ist keine Ausweichlösung, sondern in dieser Konstruktion ausdrücklich vorgesehen.
| Form | Bedeutung | Beispiel |
|---|---|---|
| would have | sichere Folge | If the crate had been labelled correctly, the driver would have delivered it to the right address. |
| could have | wäre möglich gewesen | If the crate had been labelled correctly, the driver could have delivered it to the right address. |
| might have | wäre vielleicht so gekommen | If the crate had been labelled correctly, the driver might have delivered it to the right address. |
3. Typ 1, Typ 2 und Typ 3 im direkten Vergleich
| Typ | Gebrauch | Bildung | Beispiel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typ 1 | reale Möglichkeit in Gegenwart/Zukunft | if + simple present, will-future | If the parcel arrives late, we will inform the customer immediately. |
| Typ 2 | unwirkliche Vorstellung in der Gegenwart | if + simple past, would + Grundform | If we had more staff in the warehouse, we would process orders faster. |
| Typ 3 | unwirkliche, abgeschlossene Bedingung in der Vergangenheit | if + past perfect, would have + past participle | If Tariq had checked the label, he would have avoided the mix-up. |
If the warehouse had double-checked the order number, the wrong parts wouldn’t have been sent to Halvorsen Components. If Tariq had noticed the damaged packaging before dispatch, the crate would have been repacked in time. The customer wouldn’t have complained if the delivery note had matched the actual contents of the box. We could have avoided the whole situation if someone had called the client before the parcel left the depot.
During the follow-up meeting about the trade fair deadline, the team discussed what had gone wrong. If the courier had picked up the stand material on Monday, it would have arrived before the fair opened. If Naomi had confirmed the booking with the courier company, the team might have avoided the delay altogether. Everyone agreed that they could have prevented the problem if the deadline had been written down in the shared calendar.
Landeskunde: Fake News erkennen
„Fake news, stories that look real but contain false or misleading information, spread very quickly on social media. A shocking headline gets shared within minutes, often before anyone has checked whether it is even true. That is why it helps to slow down before you share anything online.
A few quick checks can protect you from spreading a false story. Who published the article, and is that source known and reliable? Does the story also appear on other trustworthy websites, or only on one strange page? Is there a clear date, and do the quotes in the text actually come from the people they are attributed to?
Headlines written to shock or to make you angry are often a warning sign, because strong emotions make people share content without thinking. A simple reverse image search can also show whether a photo is old or taken from a completely different story. A little bit of checking goes a long way.“

| Englisch | Deutsch |
|---|---|
| fake news | gezielt falsche Nachrichten |
| source | Quelle |
| reliable | zuverlässig |
| misleading | irreführend |
| headline | Schlagzeile |
| to share | teilen (online) |
| quote | Zitat |
| reverse image search | umgekehrte Bildersuche |
